Transport Details

Entering Canada to Attend Pathfinder 2024
Prepare everything you and your camper will need to travel to Pathfinder from the U.S. and overseas. Do you and your camper have current passports or the child's birth certificate for your border crossing days? Do you need a permission letter from another parent?

Documents & Identification

Please make sure you and your Camper have proper identification.
For boys entering Canada from the US and overseas, a passport or birth certificate.

Adults need a valid passport if you are planning to come to Camp to drop off or pick up a camper. Your camper under age-16 does NOT require a passport for road travel from US for camp. A passport IS required for air travel.

Passports, birth certificates, airline tickets and other documents should be turned over to the Staff member on hand at the earliest opportunity, or hand-delivered to the camp office at Pathfinder by parents dropping off.

Medications

All camper medications should be in their original containers, all in one ziploc bag with an identifying label and dosage instructions enclosed. This bag should be given to the Staff member on hand at the earliest opportunity. For example, hand to the bus counselors before departure. This includes over the counter remedies.

Security at Airports

To avoid delays and hassles, make sure your Camper packs all objects such as pocket knives, soaps, lotions and shampoo, etc. in his checked baggage and not in a carry-on bag. Have his identification ready to show or give over to the staff member on hand. It is useful to have the camper carry a copy of the camp transport form with him. The transport counselors also have this form.

Give your camper the Camp’s phone number, 705.633.5553.
Give the Camp your camper's cell phone number if he carries one.

Tips for Comfortable Travel

Be sure your camper has his rain jacket handy on travel day. In his day pack is the best bet.
Bringing a couple of masks is smart, since there are many times a mask will be required during your travels.

Bus campers pack a lunch and some drinks. The bus does not make a food stop, so the packed lunch is a better choice than providing cash. The bus ride usually includes an on-board movie; these are G or PG titles. The bus has a restroom. Counselors are on board to supervise at all times, and will meet and greet at the bus stops.

Airline campers bring a small sum of cash for food and drink. Expect your camper to meet the Pathfinder Staff member as soon as he walks off his flight and clears the Customs inspection lobby. If your camper has a mobile phone, you can have him contact you to confirm that he has met his staff member on arrival or checked in for departure. Once campers are in the care of our staff member, they will supervise communications and any personal electronics, until they are secured in the camp office.
No exceptions.

Parents sending your campers by coach and airline, you may check with camp to confirm their safe arrival. Parents driving campers please drop off and pick up your boys at the appropriate times. See below.
