FAQs

FOR OUR 2022 PATHFINDER SEASON

Can American families send their campers to Pathfinder in 2022?

Yes! Families from the U.S., Europe, Asia and South America can once again plan for their campers to return to Pathfinder in 2022. In 2020, Ontario closed all children's camps due to Covid-19. In 2021, camps operated but were limited to Canadian campers. Now, with vaccination, testing and the ArriveCAN app, Pathfinder boys will be heading back to Source Lake from all over the world.

We're a veteran family and our camper could not attend in 2021. How do we renew our camper enrollment?

It's easy! If you were enrolled for 2021 and credited your tuition forward, you only need to complete a 2022 enrollment and apply your tuition credit. If you were enrolled but withdrew and were refunded, you may enroll again for 2022 at any time.

What Pathfinder sessions are open for my camper?
All our sessions are open for '22. Young campers (8-12) can attend for 2-weeks or the traditional 3 1/2-weeks. Age-7 boys can come for one of two special 'One-Weeker' sessions in July and August. All campers (8-15) can come for 3 1/2-weeks or the full summer, 7-weeks. And, our newest option for age-16s is ready: The Pathfinder Leaders year is a full 7-week summer of tripping action and training for the Staff experience.

Is there availability in all sessions right now?
Pathfinder's Early Bird enrollment period, September through November, was extremely busy so some sessions are nearly full, but spaces remain in each session at this time (Jan. '22). Don't delay! Grab a spot in your preferred session while you can.

If Covid conditions keep changing, is it safe to sign up for Pathfinder '22? What if we need to withdraw later?

As we have since 2020, Pathfinder will fully refund or fully credit forward your camper's tuition, if he can't attend due to Covid-19.  The choice is yours. Credited tuitions are honored in full for the following season.

My first half camper is Canadian but he’s a 3 ½ weeker. The first half is only 2-weeks. What are my options?

Shift to two weeks in July, or switch to the full second half session, July 27 – Aug. 20.

Are Family Camps back in 2022?

You Bet! There are two Family Camps coming up, July 8 - 11 & August 3 - 6.

Sounds like families can do a lot during the Lodge camp weeks, including trips?

Pathfinder will have full family days of activity on and near Source Lake. And, families can opt to take a self-guided or guided overnight or multi-night canoe trip.

Some families will sign up to take an extended canoe trip, apart from the retreat format. They can have outfitting for self-guide format, or have a family retreat Pathfinder Headman along as guide.
