"Pathfinder taught me the values of striving for excellence, of doing things professionally, the importance of safety, self-reliance, the ability to cope with adverse conditions, and an appreciation of nature. Nowadays young people seldom encounter a situation where they are completely dependent on their leaders, and where their own best effort and cooperation are so imperative."
