What is ACF?

Algonquin Campership Fund (ACF, est. 2000) is a non-profit, charitable fund created by alumni of Camp Pathfinder and Camp Northway. Its mission is to provide camper scholarships for children to attend traditional canoe tripping camps in Algonquin Park. The Fund supports individual children, and Algonquin outdoor education experiences for selected school students and groups.

ACF relies on tax-deductible gifts by the worldwide family and friends of Pathfinder and Northway campers, staff and alumni. Donors may elect to give to endowment, to annual grant-making, or to split their pledge.

“I had loads of fun being with my friends all day and becoming closer to them with all the hard work we did together. By the end of the trip, I felt rewarded with all the strength and skill I had gained as well as all the fun I had.”

"I still cannot believe how fortunate I am to have Pathfinder in my life, and can only begin to thank the contributors of the Algonquin Campership Fund. Your support has given the gift of experience. We carry the energy with us through our everyday lives. It is a flame that, for as long as we live, can never be extinguished."
ACF student recipient from Wilson OC.

"I find it kind of funny how just 25 days of being on that island changed me as a whole. I believed I knew everything about everything, but going to Pathfinder matured me. I’m no longer that child, but a grown person who understands what has to be appreciated in life and that not everything can be easy.”

“What I took away from my experience, even though it sounds cliché, is that if I really set my mind to something, anything is possible.”
